Resilience is the ability to withstand adversity and bounce back from difficult life events. Being resilient does not mean that people don’t experience stress, emotional upheaval, and suffering. Some people equate resilience with mental toughness, but demonstrating resilience includes working through emotional pain and suffering.

Why We Do It

At Klub Rezilians, we believe in decolonizing our minds, which supposes a radical break with Western epistemology and implies rethinking the world from the margins, from a worldview of its own that is rooted “outside” Eurocentric perspective, in spontaneous cooperation, ecological regeneration, and equitable advantage for all.

How We Do It

We create pathways and access to better professional and employment opportunities. We raise awareness about the critical need to eradicate interpersonal and institutional anti-black racism in islands of the Indian Ocean, starting with Mauritius. We contribute to the healing of people affected by anti-black racism, prejudice, and racial discrimination. We unite individuals, collectives, organizations and companies to advocate directly for systemic equity in the Republic of Mauritius and other Indian Ocean islands of the African diaspora.

What We Do

Klub Rezilians just happens to be a collective, that we refer to as a “Circle” that enhance the abilities of its members, building self-development, self-organization, and empowerment skills.

The club, located on the island of Mauritius, is made up mainly of professionals, artists, social entrepreneurs, and digital creators with a profound connection, or the desire to connect to cultures of the African continent and diaspora, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, nationality, skin tone or cultural origin.

Join our Empowerment Space!

Coming soon… a safe space for women, men and children who are directly affected by anti-black racism, racial prejudice and discrimination on the island of Mauritius. Klub Rezilians continues to identify and document different cases of racism, racial prejudice and discrimination at the social and institutional level.

Community Center

Klub Rezilians could do so much more with its own center to develop the club’s activities. With a conference room, a classroom, ideally a lofty space for art exhibition, with some outdoor space. Help us grow stronger together.
